Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Wedding Photo Locations: Best Spots for Your Photos

All photos in this guide are real weddings and sessions captured by Casandra Films at Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres.

Grand Palladium Select Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa is one of the most popular wedding hotels in Cancun. It is also huge. That is good news, because every corner of the resort gives you a different look for your photos.

I am a wedding photographer based in Cancun, and I have worked at this hotel many times. In this guide, I share my favorite spots, so you can imagine your wedding photos before you arrive.

Modern wedding photography at the iconic architecture of Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres.

1. The white arches in the main lobby

This is the most iconic place in the hotel. The white arched structure in the lobby creates beautiful lines and soft light. It looks clean, modern and elegant, like a fashion editorial. It works very well for bridal portraits because the white background lets your dress be the star.

2. The stone architecture walls

The hotel has large walls made of pale stone with a strong texture. They are perfect for couple portraits with a modern, minimal style. In the late afternoon, the light is warm and soft. Tip: a long veil or a dress with a train looks amazing here.

3. The Eclipse Club stairs

These dark stone stairs are great for dramatic photos. They look very elegant in black and white. A veil walking up the steps or a groom waiting at the top makes a strong, cinematic image.

4. The hotel gardens

Palm trees, green plants and pink flowers give you a fresh, tropical background. It is a good option if you want color and a natural feeling. The light is bright here, so I choose the right time and angle for the best result.

5. The beach

Of course, the beach is a classic. White sand, calm sea and a golden sunset are hard to beat. It is perfect for relaxed, romantic photos of the two of you walking and laughing together.

What about sargassum?

Sargassum is a natural seaweed that can arrive on Caribbean beaches in some seasons. The amount changes from year to year and even from day to day, so nobody can promise a perfect beach on your wedding day. The good news: you do not need to worry. Grand Palladium has many beautiful places away from the beach, like the ones in this guide. Your photos will still look stunning. If the beach looks good, we use it. If not, we move to plan B. Tips to plan your wedding photo locations

  • Plan your locations in advance. The resort is very big, so it is important to choose your favorite photo spots early with your photographer and your wedding planner. Remember to include travel time between locations in your schedule. Your hotel wedding planner can also help you arrange golf carts, so moving around is easy and you do not lose time.
  • Plan about 30 minutes for your newlywed session and choose 2 or 3 spots for a 30-minute session
  • Ask your planner and photographer about the best time for each spot. The light changes a lot during the day.
  • Choose a photographer who knows the hotel, so you do not lose time looking for places.
  • Cocktail hour is usually when we take the couple portraits, but I recommend leaving some time in your timeline to enjoy it with your guests. These are the moments when the most authentic photos happen: hugs, laughs and real emotions. You will want to live them, and you will love to see them later.
